Google Goggles, apart for the funny (confusing) name, is an Android app that lets you search on Google using photos from your phone camera. Basically they get the image, perform OCR (it can recognize objects, places, text) and return relevant search results.

It can recognize the place you are in (without using GPS, just the surrounding images), can recognize logos of famous brands (i.e. Coca Cola), country flags, DVD covers and lots of other objects.

Google Goggles has recently implemented text translation too, which lets you take a photo of a text in a different language and have it translated in your language. Beat that iPhone fanboys!
