The most promising wearables presented at MWC

Things evolve each year, especially in the technological field, and MWC is the perfect event to see what we can expect on the short term. At this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC), there were truly a plethora of announcements. Some of the presented things are good, creating eagerness (i.e. the Samsung Smart Ring), others not so good but announced only for marketing purposes (i.e. the transparent laptop screen). Anyway, some of the most interesting Android devices in my opinion were the wearables and foldables, as it seems these two categories are here to stay. OnePlus Watch 2 and Xiaomi Watch 2, respectively, are the two most promising wearables to be released soon.

Yahoo Mail app down (both Android & iOS)

I also use the Yahoo Mail app for Android, and to my surprise today (February 27th, 2024) I couldn't open my email account using the app. Occasionally, Yahoo will have trouble opening up, but I do not recall it having issues for such a long time as they've had today - Yahoo Mail app is still down at the time of writing this, both for Android and iOS. I did check to see if it's a worldwide issue and that's the case, as they've posted a message on the official Yahoo Twitter account that the apps have issues and that those will be solved soon, as their technical team is currently investigating the cause.

Tik Tube Scam – No Real Payments

Yes, I'll save you the time to read this full article and tell you right off the start that the Android application Tik Tube is a scam. You'll never make an easy $500 in 20 minutes just by simply watching TikTok videos, and certainly not with Tik Tube.  The first time I've seen a mention about Tik Tube is via an YouTube advertisement. It was a guy that said you could easily earn $500 in a matter of minutes just by watching videos. My scam alert sensor activated because by default I don't trust anyone, and that seemed to be fishy. I told myself I should check it out though, to see what's the catch.

How to report scam apps on Google Play

That until I encountered the scam apps or those that use the deceptive ads scenario. You know the type, most apps that tell you that you can easily earn money through them, are scam. Very few will actually pay the money, and most of them even if they are borderline legit, will have you spend hours and hours just to earn cents. One of the most recent scam apps I encountered was Tik Tube. It was via an YouTube advertisement, and it promoted earning hundreds/thousands of dollars with ease just by watching videos. I've prepared a separate post just for this, but in the meantime I wanted to see how you can report scam apps to Google Play to have them review it or even better take it down.

$3,500 Apple’s Vision Pro headphones reach first customers: initial impressions

On February 2nd, 2024, the Apple Vision Pro virtual reality headphones reached their first customers. It is one of the most expensive products in the history of Apple. While some say it is an extraordinary product, it also comes with a lot of drawbacks, the biggest one being the price. As an Android user, I still don't get one thing: what are these headphones really good for?

G2 reviews for money, fake or real?

G2.com is a review site that focuses on publishing user reviews for business software. It’s pretty much more or less similar to Capterra, Gartner, SourceForge and a dozen others. Much like Capterra, they’ve obviously got an incentivized review program, where they pay users to post reviews about the software listed on […]

Ad blockers are not allowed on YouTube – bypass solutions

Anyway, on a totally unrelated note, Google recently changed its extension system with an update named Manifest V3, supposedly to improve security, performance, and privacy. But, and this is a big but, with this update it also introduced a limit on how extensions can modify websites and requests. This limitation affects ad blocker extensions that need to filter out ads and trackers on websites such as YouTube. Yes, you read that correctly. Google basically broke ad blockers, but not out of greed, because they only made like $30 billion in profit last year. No, it was for the good of the users ...
